Dyslexia Workshop for Parents and Teachers of Children with Dyslexia

Join us at the South Whatcom Library! Whether you have a family member or child with reading challenges, you will learn something new about how our brains learn to read and why some of us struggle with it.

Dyslexia is a brain-based condition in 15-20% of the population that causes difficulty with reading and the small components of language: sounds, letters, and syllables. Bring your curiosity and questions.

Kendra Wagner has taught children of all ages with challenges in reading and writing. She was a school reading specialist, an in-service provider in schools, and a specialist in private practice. Her specialization in dyslexia arose from working in juvenile detention and discovering how many had reading disabilities. She is a recent transplant to the area.
