Membership

The mission of the Friends of the South Whatcom Library is to enhance library services through support and advocacy, raising awareness of the library’s value in our community.

The South Whatcom Library is located inside Gate 2 in Sudden Valley. The library serves the Geneva, Glenhaven and Sudden Valley communities. Members of these communities, who are 16 years of age and older, are welcome to participate as Friends of the South Whatcom Library simply by becoming a member.

  • Membership can be held as a single individual, a household, or a business.
  • Members can choose between 2 levels of membership involvement as noted below.
  1. Standard Member – receives membership newsletter for up-to-date information on the latest activities and events, supports the Friends through membership dues.
  2. Supporting Member – receives membership newsletter for up-to- date information on the latest activities and events, supports the Friends through membership dues, volunteers to help with one or more activities or events sponsored by the Friends or the SWL/year, may choose to serve on a Friends’ committee or as a Friends’ board member.
ANNUAL DUESIndividual – $10Household – $25Business – $50

A scholarship membership is available for anyone unable to meet the dues requirement.

TO BECOME A FRIEND

  1. Fill out the online membership form or download a pen-and-paper form here.
  2. Submit your membership dues using the payment button after you submit the digital membership form OR by mailing a check along with your paper membership form to FSWL 10 Barn View Dr. Bellingham, Wa. 98229
