Intelligent Trees Documentary Screening Friday, June 16, 2023 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm During our Summer Reading partnership with the Whatcom Million Trees Project, we hope that you will join us for a special screening and discussion of Intelligent Trees. Trees talk, know family ties, and care for their young? Is this too fantastic to be true? German forester Peter Wohlleben (author of The Hidden Life of Trees) and scientist Suzanne Simard (The University of British Columbia, Canada) have been observing and investigating the communication between trees over decades. And their findings are most astounding. Catch the documentary at home on Kanopy or join the conversation in person this June. This is a free event; however, please pre-register at: https://wcls.libcal.com/event/10583477 Summer Reading Kickoff Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 10:00am – 8:00pm Join us at the South Whatcom Library for this exclusive, all-day kickoff celebration!
