Friends of the South Whatcom Library

Become a Library Champion

Committed to Our Library, Connected to Our Community

The Friends of the South Whatcom Library (FoSWL) is a volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to advocating for and supporting our library. Made up of passionate community members from Geneva, Glenhaven, and Sudden Valley, we believe in the power of libraries to inspire, educate, and connect us all.

As one of 10 branches in the Whatcom County Library System, the South Whatcom Library is a vital resource for our community. We work to raise awareness of its services, provide volunteer support for events and programs, and fund initiatives that enhance the library’s impact.

Our Mission

At FoSWL, we are dedicated to advocating for and enhancing the South Whatcom Library. Through community engagement, volunteer efforts, and fundraising, we help ensure the library remains a thriving, accessible resource for all.
